Failure

Over the last few years, I have started to like this word.
And no, this is not going the philosophical way.

Failure is completely the opposite of what we are taught about, since childhood. Where I grew up, there were prizes and celebrations on securing 1st. If not, I would get a consoling pat on the back with “try harder next time”.

Now when I look back, I realize the “why” and “how”, were not analyzed much, leading to the non-utlisation of the core learnings. Effectively, success had to be earned through “more” hard work.

It took me years to realize that failure serves a different purpose. It tells us that the goals are not as daunting as they are in our heads. The elusive job, the difficult examination, the intimidating speech — seems too distant before our first failure. Failure gives a game plan, a set of rules, and a belief that that it can be done.

Moreover, we can fail hundreds of times. Failure gives us luxury. Winning is only done once, before the goalpost changes.
Failing faster is a competitive advantage one can have over those who plan and plan to ensure (whatever that means) they don't fail.

I’ve used this to try out things I would never have tried otherwise. I have failed more times than most people I know. I have never felt more confident with myself.

Fail Fast. Fail Better. Start smiling on rejections. Sooner, there will be wins!
